A Year of Horton

It’s 2025 and this year I have decided to get stuck into Horton Technique!

I did some online Horton (and Graham) classes in August when I decided to join M-Intensive’s CPD Summer Intensive, and I was drawn to that because I love Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre and have seen them twice in London. I’ve also been doing BOP Jazz’s online workouts (which I purchased during Covid) most days after work, and that uses Horton Technique for the warm up. After thinking about it for a little while, I bit the bullet and signed up for membership at M-Intensive this week and I’ve made a start with roll downs and flat backs – yeah!

This does not mean I’m giving up on TAP of course!

Alvin Ailey

AileyOMG I am SOOOO excited to have received my Alvin Ailey Dance Theater tickets through the post! I’m going to see them for the second time ever in September at Sadlers Wells in London. The last time I saw them was in 2010, and I’ve been waiting for them to return ever since! They are such an inspiration with their sheer athleticism and musicality. If you look at their website and publicity, the photographs of the dancers are stunning! They actually made me want to start to learn ballet after I realised it wasn’t just for one body type.
