The Lifelong Dance Student is where I outwardly process my exploits in learning dance as an adult, hopefully encouraging other adults who decided to return to dance as adults or have just started learning from scratch.
My dad was a maker of dance shoes (ballroom, ballet, jazz) and had lots of links with the local dance schools, but I wasn’t interested in going to classes as a child, preferring to do my own thing (my brief experiences of try-out classes weren’t encouraging). I learnt a lot from mimicking music videos on MTV, VH1 and The Box!
I started learning for fun as a young adult; first with Street Jazz and Hip Hop, followed by Contemporary, Jazz and Ballet, the one I was most daunted by but fell in love with…
At the end of 2015 I discovered Rhythm Tap, became obsessed and haven’t looked back!
Hope you enjoy!
