About

The Lifelong Dance Student is where I’m outwardly processing my exploits in learning dance as an adult, hopefully encouraging other adults who have decided to return to dance as adults or have just started learning from scratch.

My dad was a maker of dance shoes and had lots of links with the local dance schools, but I wasn’t interested in going to classes as a child, preferring to do my own thing (my brief experiences of try-out classes weren’t encouraging). I learnt a lot from mimicking music videos on MTV, VH1 and The Box!

I started learning for fun as a young adult at university; first with freestyle jazz and hip hop, followed by contemporary, and ballet – the one I was most daunted by but loved, and then…

….at the end of 2015 I discovered Rhythm Tap, became OBSESSED and haven’t looked back!

Enjoy!
